brownie points. This time our elaborate check lists failed to notify me that I didn’t have the camera battery charger packed in its usual place. Diane to the rescue!

Our eventual goal as noted in Blog -1.4/28, is Anza-Borrego Desert State Park, in the mountains between Los Angeles and San Diego. After about 300 miles, we decided it was time to stop and smell the…poppies.
Normally, we wouldn’t travel this far in one day, but we’ve been up and down the I5 so many times, it seems old hat. Flying J truck stops are convenient for their gas price, dump station, inexpensive restaurant, and easy camp sites.
Tomorrow , I run the gauntlet—there are five major botanic gardens between us and Anza-Borrego park!
